The Timeline of the Warren from the End of the Second Chaos War to Present
A bit of history.
The close of the 2nd Chaosium war, ended by the heroic sacrifice of Queen Aynia, caused a new dating system adopted for the years.
CA: Cyn Arberth (before sacrifice) and WA: Wedi Arberth (after sacrifice)
1 WA: the Senedd (senate) is formally organized and an elected Llywydd (leader) is given the power of the crown. The Gwaith Gwych, the articles organizing the new government are signed and ratified by the surviving holdfasts.
5 WA: Bastion gains a Mayoral position that is separate from the Llywydd
10: The Mayoral house is finished being constructed
15 WA: The Oracle notifies the Llywydd that Elwydium is dramatically fading, nothing is done.
35 WA: firearms are developed in Chail based on crossbows and battle wands, longer staves inspire more rifle-like designs.
45 WA: The first large internal combustion engine is developed, used in trains and large ships.
60 WA: The Oracle disappears from public attendance. The first printing press is built in The Library.
90 WA: Rumours of sightings of the fallen queen and her regent begin to spread through the warren.
110 WA: clockwork prosthetics appear, replacing the arcane ones employed by such places as The Seat, etc.
125 WA: firearms are refined, becoming both works of art and deadly weapons used by the formerly arcane gentry.
130 WA: the first Clockwork Man is unveiled at Victory Day. Automobiles enter the market the same year.
135 WA: The Library of the Oracle has become The Daily Warren building. A large, gleaming diamond is suspended building, set into its heart.
145 WA: Electricity is harnessed to power lights and appliances.
150 WA: Radio is developed, the oracle reappears as a newsperson for the city. By all accounts from the elves of the warren, it is the same voice as the Oracle who vanished.
180 WA: Clockwork Men known as Cuiditheoir are now employed by those who can afford them as laborers and rudimentary servants.
200 WA: The Delphi Institute of Elwydium Preservation is founded by C. All, and begins studying the remnants of magic in the world.
220 WA: Firearms have been further refined, becoming either lethal works of art inspired by wands, rods, and staves for the nobility, or a common tool for violence inspired by crossbows, particularly hand crossbows for easy concealment by the middle and lower classes.
295 WA: Fallon Ailith begins climbing the local political ladders of Bastion, leveraging her burgeoning influence for more extracurricular opportunities in the future
300 WA: Victory Day Masqeurade festival. The modern year.
